While hanging out with her children and husband, Alicia is confronted by her husband's mistress, Piper. Of course, he denies it, but what makes matters worse is that one of her children knows Piper! Completely blindsided by this, Alicia is wondering how could this have ever happened. She knew that she and Arlington were happy. After all, according to Alicia, Arlington would be nothing without her. Confused and not sure of what way to go, Alicia turns to her friends Cassie and Myra for some guidance. Both Alicia and Myra are going through their own issues at home. Soon, one them will have a tragic ending in their lives. Will Alicia be able to lean on her friends for support and advice? Or, will they need her more than she needs them?
I actually enjoyed reading author Deondriea Cantrice's book When Emotions Lie. It did start off a little slow, but once you really get into the book, it really does have a good plot, and the ending was not one you will be able to predict. Ms. Cantrice will get you completely wrapped up in the story and you'll soon see that each person in the book has strong characteristics and you'll want to know more about them. I do look forward to reading more of Ms. Cantrice's books.
